  1. Prayer to be said When Going To Sleep:
    I lie down on my right side.
    I pray to God to be my guide
    If any trouble, troubles me.
    O Blessed Virgin waken me.
    There are four corners on my bed
    There are four angels over head
    Saint Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John
    God bless me, on this bed, that I lie on.
    I lay myself on my right side to sleep
    My soul I give to God, to keep
    If any evil comes to me.
    O, blessed Lady waken me
    And if I die before I wake
    I pray to God my soul to take
    To be said When in Bed:
    Ann was the mother of Mary.
    Mary was the mother of Jesus;
    Cross of the tree may be between me and
    the nightmare. Sweet Jesus. Amen.
