  1. The local fairs are usually held in Rathdowney. They take place on the third Tuesday of each month except in the month of June when the fair is held in Donaghmore.
    The fair of Rathdowney is usually a large one. It is divided into two parts. The cattle fair being held in the Square and the sheep fair in Pound Street.
