  1. Long ago the people only had what food would keep them alive. In the morning when a man would get up he would sometimes have to go to work without his breakfast at twelve o clock. he would have boiled nettles for cabbage and a few potatoes. In the evening for his tea he would have porridge made from Indian meal that the people now boil for chickens. If they had any cattle or horses to feed they would pull grass on the side of the road. They pulled Kecks boiled them and gave them to the animals for food. They nearly always
