  1. The landlords of this district long ago were the Cootes. They lived in Ballyfinn Demesne. Three or four generations of them lived there and were landlords of the Coote estate. They were good landlords and did a lot of good for their tenants. Coote came into all his estate for his bravery in Cromwells war Cootes are no longer the landlords. The land Commission owns all now.
