  2. In olden times people only had three meals a day. They consisted mainly of potatoes, milk, butter and porridge. Tea was a luxury and was only partaken of an festive occasions. Bread was made of wholemeal and baked on a griddle.people always ate a lot of eggs on Easter Sundays and pancakes on Shrove Tuesday night.
