   Before rain, fowl shelter in their house. Spiders creep from their cobwebs before rain. At the approach of rain the Spaniels sleep. Cows always lie down before rain falls so as to keep a dry patch under them. When a donkey is heard braying it is said to be the sign of rain. The peacock's screech is a well known sign that rain is approaching. If there is a halo around the moon it is sure to rain. If the sun is pale when setting it will rain. When the sun shines very warm and then it is clouded we are sure to have showers. When the smoke goes up straight in the sky we are going to have a fine day. When you see a rain-bow you are sure to have showers. When the stars shine very bright it is the sign of frost.
