  2. After the rebellion of "98" three men came from New Ross by the Oldcoart road as that was the road at that time. They had a lot of money with them and they hid it on the Killcross road in seprate places. Soon after the elder died and left his share to the next eldest. In time to come he died and so all the money belonged to the younger. When he died nobody knew where the money was hidden but it was not found untill children going home from school found some of it. You can still see the hole
