  1. There is an old castle in Currahill, in the parish of Dunnamaggan, in the barony of Kells, Co. Kilkenny. The Butlers of Currahill built it & it was besieged in the year 1691 by the Williamites. There is no dungeon in the castle.

  2. The castle in Currahill is connected with one in Clune by means of an underground passage. The former was attacked & half knocked at one time. A man named Mc Kenna jumped from the top & was killed.
