    In this parish starch was made from potatoes, cement from lime and buttermilk. Excellent mortar better than cement of late times, was made from lime, sand, and blood.
    In those days there were excellent stone masons whose building withstood all severity of climate. There is one house in the locality which is one hundred and fifty years old and it is still in good condition.
