    5. Our local patron is Saint Attracta. The people of Attracta were baptized when so many others were converted. When her father tried to force her to marry a chieftan she stole away and came to Boyle where Saint Patrick was preaching and she told him her story. SHe had no veil but Saint Patrick prayed and a veil rested on her
