    was surprised to find the large stone which he placed at the entrance to his cave and which he thought nothing but himself could move was rolled back. He concluded that there must have been enemy giants about the place. On going out to tend his flocks he found six or seven strange giants sitting round a fire. They attacked and killed him and buried him beside the rock. His sheep it seems must have known their master's fate. They came to mourn his death by kneeling on the rock beside his grave. Their knee prints are still to be seen on the rock together with a figure of a cross carved by the giants. In this way the rock came to be called The Giant's Rock.
