  1. Amhrán (continued)

Those moonlighting heroes who of late made a raid ¶ Down at Castlefarm in John Curtaynes place

    (continued from previous page)
Inside in the kitchen old Curtayne did fall.
But for the damp ammunition they would stifle them all
Which should be the fate of the Informer.
There was Norah, and Lizzie, and Agnes all three
Tumbling upstairs in the hell of a spree.
That evening with Doran they drank in full glee,
    And little expected the slaughter.
What a pity the lapdog of the Kenmares estate
Was not caught in the trap, we would give him a taste,
With bullets and powder we would send him in haste
To hell from tormenting the farmer.
The blood of the martyrs for vengeance did ball,
'Twas ordered by heaven that Curtayne should fall,
Sucess to the hero who gave him the ball
And God prosper him over the water.
Not forgetting Thady Sullivan who was shot through the head
In the heavens above may his soul find a bed.
And his sorrowing mother who is now nearly dead
Lamenting the loss of her darling.
