  1. The houses long ago were small houses built with mud and stones. They were thatched with straw. The bed was in the corner of the house. The owners of the house slept in it. Long ago people kept the horses and pigs in the houses. The old people had the fires in the middle of the floors and the smoke came out through a hole in the roof. The houses long ago had only one window and one door. There was no glass in the windows but a bag of straw was stuffed in the holes. The floors were made of clay and stones.
