  1. In the time of the war between England and Ireland there was a man killed in a place called Turgeen Garrab near Ballydesmond. In the spot where the man fell dead the grass never grew and from that day to this there is not a blade of grass growing there. It was in an ambush he was killed. It was called Turgeen Garrab ambush.
