    I am a true born Irishman
    John Mitchell is my name
    To free my land and countrymen
    From Newry town I came
    When first I joined the
    brotherhood
    It was in '42, and then what
    happened after, I am going to
    relate to you.

    and gloried on the deed
    But I vowed to Heaven I never
    would die untill Ireland would
    be free.
