  1. There is not so much churning done now since the farmers began to send the milk to the creamery, but they usually churn twice a week in Summer and once a week in Winter.
    Some people churn in creamery-cans and others in big churns. When a creamery can is used there has to be a dash and a little lid with a hole in it where the handle of the dash comes through. The dash has to be stirred continually up and down until the butter gathers on the milk. The butter is taken out then and put into a little dish, salted and made into prints.
    The home made butter is far superior to the dairy butter. In Winter hot water has to be added to
