- (continued from previous page)During the famine a lot of people died of starvation in my district of Castledargon. The only thing the people had to eat was grass and cabbage boiled on water without bacon. This killed more than it gave relief to. They had no clothes to wear only meal bags and a string around them to keep up the bags. The people were evicted out of their houses and died on the roadway and under the hedges.
The people never heard of Cromwell visiting my district of Castledargon. They never heard of how he died or where he was killed. - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
