"The Land League Ass".
The police seized the ass because the crowd were round the town and causing an awful commotion. They then offered the ass for sale but no one would buy, of course.
Finally they returned the ass; they drove him home again to Cliffoney.
Those put in gaol were allowed out after 3 days. There were great celebrations on their home(continues on next page)
