    Grellagh
    continued from back of book
In explaining meaning of word Grellagh I should have added the following.
Originally the townland was very much smaller. Its present size is due to the time of the squaring of the land. It extended then roughly half its present length measured along main road . Most of the houses were centred around where James Paddy Ned McGloin's is now. This place is very rocky, kind of whin or greyish stones. Hence the name Liathach = abounding in grey stones.
