    one for a boy another for a girl and both are placed in the "Griosac" or red ashes. Then if both hop or move towards each other the pair shall get married. The quicker they move towards one another, the soon shall they be married.
    If they move away no marriage shall take place.
    Christmas Day and Xmas - 12 days
    Holly is put up in the house. Previous to this the house is decorated, whitewashed and generally cleaned up. Berried holly if at all possible is procured and left up for the 12 days. Feasts such as on Hallow-Eve night are held on Xmas night, 1st January
