  2. The saint traditionally connected with this district is St. Molaise.
    A small church which St. Molaise erected is still standing on Inishmurray Island near the coast of Co. Sligo, and it is still used by the people of the island.
    The ruins of a small monastery in which St Molaise lived when he came to the mainland are at a place called Stáid in Streeda, Co. Sligo
