  1. Old Houses 22 - 12 - 1938
    In olden times houses were made out of stone and clay made into mortar. Every house had two apartments, namely, the kitchen and a room.
    The windows were small and mats made out of straw were used in them instead of glass Straw-mats were also used instead of doors.
    The houses were usually thatched with rushes. There was a bed in the corner of the kitchen. The fire was usually placed against the gable wall.
    The front of the chimney was made out of wood or rods platted together. The rods were plastered with clay and
