  1. There lived in Barnaderrig, near Grange, Co. Sligo, about a hundred years ago, a man named Fedhlim Friel. Feidhlim had a small farm of land.
    One night he went out to see his sheep. There was a fort in the field in which the sheep were. He saw a number of fairy horsemen around the fort.
    One of the horsemen gave him a horse to ride and told him not to speak while riding. Feidhlim's horse raced away and jumped across a lake.
    "If I never spoke that was a great jump," said Feidhlim.
    Feidhlim had hardly the words out of his mouth when he found himself riding on a white calf in his own garden.
    He went out again
