    are mostly knit from woolen thread which is bought in the shops. They are sometimes knit from woolen thread which is spun by means of a spinning wheel from wool which is clipped from the farmers sheep in summer. There are about nine spinning wheels in this district still.

  2. The saint traditionally connected with this district is St. Molaise.
    A small church which St. Molaise erected is still standing on Inishmurray Island near the coast of Co. Sligo, and it is still used by the people of the island.
    The ruins of a small monastery in which St Molaise lived when he came to the mainland are at a place called Stáid in Streeda, Co. Sligo
