    Longford. There are ruins to mark the postition of most of those houses.
    There was a corn mill in the townland and the store is turned into a dwelling house.
    One of the oldest roads in (the) Ireland runs through the townland. The French under General Humbert travelled on it on their way to Ballinamuck where they were defeated by General Lake in the year 1798.
    The townland is hilly and it is touched by two lakes. A stream flows through the townland. There are portions of the townland covered with furze.
    Adoon Lake is on the Southern side. It covers 79 acres of land. Lake Aquineen is on the North-Eastern side of the townland. It covers about 30 acres of land.
