about three miles from Carrick-on-Shannon in County Roscommon. The fee payable was a penny per week. The books they used were - "Readiing made Easy" a spelling book and a long Catechism. The subjects taught were, reading, writing, spelling and counting. The scholars attended this school at different sesssions, owing to lack of accomodation and the fact of having no assistants. Their only seats were rough boards, boxes, stones, and sods of turf.
