  1. 1. In years gone by the children never wore boots until they began to go to school.
    2. The children of the poorer people wore tritheens(?) these were knitted and they covered the heels and ankles.
    3. There lived a man named Gaffrey a Mount Allan and he never wore boots all his life.
    4. He was living ten years ago and I dont whether he is alive now or not.
    5. Children go bare-footed in Summer but not all the year round.
    6. Boots are repaired locally.
    7. There are two shoe-makers in the district
    8. There names are Myles Christy and Pat Keleher.
    9. There was no one in their families shoemakers but themselves.
    10. In the village of Drumkeeran near where I live there were 10 or 11 shoemakers between 30 and 40 years ago working every day and there is not even one working now.
