    the cross-roads he went up on a staple. He took a big penknife out of his pocket and he swore by the knife the man would come up after him, he would rip him like a sack. A man from Brough named Travers rushed after him to kill him. Conlon stabbed the man in the heart and he died after. Some say there is a ghost seen there since.
