- You dear divine lasses, of fame and parnasses,
My theme now surpasses .
all those of past time.
As Im leaving Nephin, the pride of this nation,
No more circulation, of songs or of rhyme.
Trouble and sorrow will meet me tomorrow,
My heart like an arrow, the pangs shall I feel.
The day cold or warm, will give me alarm
Farewill to the farm, and "Sweet Carrowkeel" 2.
Hereby lofty Nephin, and all decoration
That grand habitation appearing in view,
Plantations, green bowers, fruit berries and flowers
And sweet sunny showers descending like dew.
The warblers of feather are still flying thither
Rejoicing together while the trout and the eel
are gliding and glancing and always advancing
In that river enhancing our famed Carrowkeel 3
Our hero of Nephin is still the head leader
You heard my dear neighbours he jumped river Deel
His actions courageous will shine for all ages
