Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The people of this locality have very nice prayers that are not written in books. Suppose a man was working in a field, and another man was passing by he would say "God bless the work". This is another prayer the people of this locality say. When a person comes visiting to a house he would say "God save all here" and when he would be going home, the people of the house would say "Good night and safe home". Another prayer is:- When a man stops work in the evening he says "The Lord have mercy on the dead". When he says that prays I suppose he means the Lord have mercy on the people that were working there cutting turf before him. The old people long ago used to say when the lamp used to be lit "The light of heaven we may have when we leave this world". If an animal would die or a person, and when he would be going to bury it, he would say "The harm of the year
