    encome of his glebe.
The land was divided in most places by the landlords, and given to the tenants. In other places the land was sub-divided into run-dales, and is so at the present day in some localities. The landlords exercised special powers over their tenants. The tenants were supposed to give four days work in the year to the landlords, such as mowing hay, reaping oats, cutting turf, and when the turf was saved the tenants should take it with their horses, and draw it to the landlords place.
