    Christmas Eve was a fast day until about 8 P.M. then preparations began for the "Suipéir mhór Amongest the very poor this was really a simple feast consisting of potatoes, butter and fish. But any families who owned sheep always killed a lamb for Xmas.
    On Xmas day the principal matter for all, even the criple, the lame and the blind was to attend Mass.
    Then after dinner socail calls were the order of the day and the Mountain dew was fuly sampled.
