- We set about one road of potatoes every year, and we very often have a good crop. We have to manure the ground after making the drills. Then we turn over the soil on top of the manure. We never use a plough. We always dig the soild with a spade.
Long ago timber ploughs were used and very often a man would have to draw the plough.(continues on next page)
