    blacksmith and he used to make the láighe for them. Some people help in slitting the potatoes but this is only when there is only one man or woman in the house. A month the potatoes are sown when the people cover them, and when the stalks come up they mould them about six weeks after the stalks come up.
    The people never used to spray the potatoes in olden times but the blight used to come on them and sometimes they used not have any potatoes at all. The people always spray the potatoes twice every year and then they leave them there until Autumn and then they dig them with spades. They make holes or pits in the ground and put the potatoes in them. The potatoes are picked separately, they safe big ones for themselves and the small ones in a hole for themselves and the people have about seven holes in one field but this is depending upon
