    cattle for the Summer in May and selling in December. The people used to leave the house at four o'clock to be on the road to see if any jobber was coming, the road to buy whatever they had to sell.
    When the bargain was being made the people used to be striking hands. When the cash was handed to the seller he used to spit on it before he put it in his pocket. When a cow was sold the mark they put on her was a mark with a coloured chalk, or hair was cut with a scissors a string tied on her tail. Now the [eople mark her with dirt. The treat they used to get was a drink. The seller would stand first first and then the buyer. They used to treat also the men who helped them make the bargain. They
