was a man named Michael Egan. He stayed where James Morely, Carracanada, Swinford lives now.
There was no cart working on the road because there were only four carts in the district and the people who owned them were thought to be too rich to get work on the road. The people who owned those carts were:- John M. Wermott, Brackloon, Swinford. Terry Gallagher, Curryronane, Swinford. James Kenny, Derryronane, Swinford and Andrew Kenny Carracanada, Swinford.
Before bridges were made in the district the rivers were crossed by means of stepping stones. If the rivers were flooded and a person wanted to go to town they would have to wait until the flood would go down.
