    shilling is paid for every cow brought in. It is also a custom for the seller to give some money to the buyer for luck. When the bargain is made they show the agreement by a shake hands. Raddle is then put on the beast, and sometimes mud is put on the flank, others clip the hair off its side, and when such a mark is on it, it cannot be sold again.
    The last Wednesday and Thursday are the fair days in my town. The pig fair is held on Wednesday, and the cattle and ass fair on Thursday. There are no fairs for sheep or horses in Kiltimagh and
