    instead of horses the people went in jaunting cars and those who attended the marriage used to go about to the next parishes playing on every sort of instruments, fiddles, (fluets) flutes, and other things and then they used to go to the bride's house for the feast.
    Another custom was that "strawboys" used to go to the wedding-feasts wearing false-faces and having straw tied around them, and they (wound) would demand drink and a dance with the bride or else they would do some destruction outside
