    where Forkan's shop is now, There was a forge in Greyfield owned by Durkan's and one in Corrick owned by Coyne's. Mickey Bourke's forge which was where the Convent is now was the chief place for the idle crew of Kiltimagh to assemble at night time where every topic known to mankind was discussed. There was also one in Treenagleragh called Byrne's.
    The smith's forges were always a haven of shelter in winter
