    Boots and shoes are made and repaired by local shoe-makers and cobblers, of whom there are over half-a-dozen in my district. This like many other trades, used to be a sort of family tradition.
    The number of cobblers in every locality has increased very much as compared with a few generations back, owing to boots and shoes being worn by all sections of the community from childhood.
    And moreover, boot and shoe repairing is frequently done in the homes of the people since the introduction
