    Boots and shoes are made and repaired by local shoe-makers and cobblers, of whom there are over half-a-dozen in my district. This like many other trades, used to be a sort of family tradition.
    The number of cobblers in every locality has increased very much as compared with a few generations back, owing to boots and shoes being worn by all sections of the community from childhood.
