    Peaceful, celestial and calm in his sleep, in the realms of virtue and song. As a martyr he fell, then why should we weep, For Mc. Guire, the hero of [?]

    When the slogan resounded he answered the call, that freedom our land might regain.
    He strove to uplift her from serfdom and thrall.
    As he fought neath the flag of Sinn Fein.
    III
    No nation could render a soldier so brave, he knew not the shadow of gloom. He dreaded not pitch [?] nor scaffold or grave,
    But shuddered his life in its bloom.
