him. Next morning he died - twas Friday and he was burying on Sunday.
That Thursday morning my brother, John, was working at Tobin's at the time. We sent him word that day that he was bad. He left the house shortly after 12 oclock and came when he was coming through the wood about the same spot he heard this whistle again.
He thought 'twas some of us called him back so he turned back again.
"What brought you back," says me mother. "Didn't you whistle after me?" says he
"Faith'em sure I didn't," says she, "none of us went outside the door since you left."
"Oh thats the whistle poor Bill heard" says me mother
And twas at that very home he died next morning.
