My mother told me that one day the people of a certain house in Kyle saw a fairy funeral going up the Pattern Green & they all ran out to look at it. They left a child in the cradle but when they came back they found a terrible looking creature in its place. This creature lived in the house like a beast for 40 yrs. It used to get up on the raileóg & crawl in the ashes & would not eat any Krian food. It tore up the roots & at them like a pig. Then it disappeared & they never saw it after. If the people had known they should have put it on a red hot shovel & they would have got their own child back.
