  1. There is a lot of beautiful rocks and stones in my locality. Some of them are very large but the smaller ones are very curious in shape and apperance. Some are marked, these marks are hollow in form and very like knee prints; in these knee prints a lot of water collects.
These strange rocks are numerous and common and are to be seen scattered about the fields and ditches. Some of them are ornamental with holes in them and some of them are very strange and are hollowed with cavities, some resemble bones and limbs of animals.
There was a new graveyard made in the parish and these ornamental stones were got from the owner of the land and were used in constructing rockeries in the churchyard. These ornamental stones are also set over gate piers in the district.
About two miles from my home in a field in Ballyhealy there is a very large rock. Tradition tells us that an eagle used to rest on this rock in days gone by . This rock is called "Cloc Mor" which means a large stone.
