Churning.
When people are making butter they are churning .When making butter they put cream into a churn and twist the churn until the butter is made ,then they take it out of the churn and wash it and put spring water in it ,to make it hard.If anyone would come in, you should let them twist the churn a few times.You should not let them take a coal out f the fire.
Every May Night the people left their cowhouse doors so anyone could not milk their cows.
it is said that there was a woman walking a road and by the side of the road there was a cow.She left a sod of turf upon the wall and went away.In a few days after,the woman of the house went out ,and when she saw the sod of turf she brought it in ,and threw it in the fire,and after that she could not make any butter from that cow.
