    Long ago,there lived a woman and her husband was dead.She had three daughters,and one of them used to eat a lot of food.One day,they had three men cutting turf,and the food the mother had cooked was porridge,and she put down three pots of it,for them.Then herself and two of the daughters went out ,and the other girl ate the porridge.
    When the mother came in and saw that the porridge was all eaten,she gave the girl an awful slashing.Suddenly a man came along,and said to the woman ,"Why are you beating your daughter"and she answered "She is too good for working ." Then the man said "She is the one I would want".and the girl went away with him.When they came to a castle ,the man gave the girl a letter and told her to give it to his wife,and she did so.
    The mans wife was very pleased to see the girl,and the work she got to do was,
