  1. Ennistymon is in the barony of Corcomrue Ruadh. It is not a very large town. There are four streets in it. Maint Street is the largest one. There are about 52 houses in it. Ennistymon got its name from a meadow called Tymon's meadow. The Inagh river flows through the town. There are very few lakes in the district. The largest one is the Lake of Lickeen, about 2 mls. from the town. From this lake the water is supplied to the town. There are about 50 people over 70 years and very few of them can tell Irish stories.
