  1. The old trades that were carried on long ago by the old people in Ennistymon were shirt-making and basket-making.
    People made shirts out of bogdeal which were called bogdeal shirts. They made baskets from twigs and rushes. They made candles out of sheep's tallow. They made timber cups and when they broke, the people saved them.
