    Shrove was the time of the year always most common for marriages.Te people consider the months of May and June unlucky for getting married.long ago there was a special man in every Parish for making matches.long ago it was a custom that the couple to be married when they would be leaving the house the people used to put an old shoe after them to bring back the luck with them.
