The patron saint of this parish is saint Cronan.Saint Cronan founded a monastery in a Peninsula in the Parish,but this Peninsula is changed into an Island in Winter -time.The ruins of monastery are not there now ,but there are ruins of an other monastery there which was founded by the O'Briens of Thomon in the twelvth century.
    Saint Cronan founded a monastery in Roscrea also. The right name of this parish is Inchcronan, but it is called Crusheen now, and it
